Peer Support Groups

Caring for a loved one can bring moments of connection, meaning, and joy—but it can also come with uncertainty, stress, and feelings that can be difficult to put into words. Our Caregiver Support Groups offer a welcoming space to connect with others who understand the realities of caregiving firsthand.

These groups are centred around shared experience, conversation, and connection. There is no expectation to have everything figured out or to have the “right” thing to say. Come as you are, share as much or as little as feels comfortable, and listen to the experiences of others.

What to Expect

Our gatherings are an opportunity to:

  • Share your personal experiences and realities of caregiving

  • Connect with others who have lived experience as caregivers

  • Talk about the challenges, changes, and emotions that can come with caregiving

  • Reflect on what your experiences have taught you and the wisdom you’ve gained along the way

  • Learn from the perspectives and experiences of other caregivers

  • Give and receive encouragement, understanding, and support

Flexible, Open Groups

Our support groups meet twice per month in Vernon, Lake Country, Kelowna, and West Kelowna.

The groups are designed to be flexible and welcoming. You do not need to attend every session to participate. You can join the group on a drop-in basis and attend when it works for you. Accessing support should feel manageable—not like another commitment.

Getting Started

There is a brief intake form used to help us report on the program to our funder, United Way. You do not need to complete this before attending your first group. We want to make it easy to try a group and see if it feels right for you without paperwork becoming a barrier to accessing support.

Current Availability

Some of our groups currently have limited space. The Vernon, Lake Country, and two Kelowna groups are currently at capacity, and we are accepting names for the waitlist.

The West Kelowna group may have availability. Please contact us to learn more about upcoming sessions and current space.
