Summer Student – Digital & Community Programs Assistant
About Lake Country Health
Lake Country Health is a community-based nonprofit organization dedicated to improving wellbeing, connection, and access to support services in Lake Country and the Central Okanagan. Our work includes mental health initiatives, caregiver support, youth programming, volunteer engagement, healthy aging initiatives, and community wellness programming.
We are looking for a creative, community-minded summer student to join our small and collaborative team.
Position Overview
The Digital & Community Programs Assistant will support both our online presence and our community programming activities throughout the summer. This role is ideal for a student who enjoys creativity, technology, communications, and community engagement.
The successful candidate will help improve and maintain our Wix website, support digital communications, and assist with community wellness and outreach programs.
Key Responsibilities

Support updates and improvements to the Lake Country Health Wix website (you will receive training if you're not familiar with Wix, but experience with website writing is an asset)

Assist with digital content creation, including graphics, photos, social media, and website content

Help improve website accessibility, organization, and user experience

Support community programs and events

Assist with outreach, communications, and promotional activities

Work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and community partners

Help gather stories, photos, and impact information for communications and reporting

Provide administrative and organizational support as needed

Has an interest in mental health, community development, or nonprofit work
Experience with graphic design, photography, video, Canva, or social media is considered an asset.

Location
Lake Country, BC
Compensation
$22/hour
Term and Hours
280 hours total. 35 hours per week with some flexibility. The position can start as early as June 1 and ends by August 28.
Work Location: In person, with option to occasionally work remotely as duties permit.
