Mental Health Coordinator
Part-time, Continuing Position
Lake Country Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Mental Health Facilitator to support community mental wellness in Lake Country.
The Mental Health Facilitator organizes and facilitates programs such as peer support groups, youth mental health programs, and violence prevention programs. The person will also conduct outreach by building relationships with community partners and connect individuals to appropriate mental health supports and services. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator with experience in frontline mental health work and group facilitation.
This is a part-time role with variable hours ranging from 15 to 22.5 hours per week (approximately 0.4–0.6 FTE).
Key Responsibilities

Organize, coordinate, and facilitate peer support groups for vulnerable populations.

Facilitate Lake Country Health’s Beyond the Bell program for youth, providing group support and promoting mental wellness within the youth community.

Support Lake Country Health’s family violence prevention and awareness program.

Engage with community members to assess needs, provide appropriate support, and offer resource navigation.

Contribute to the development and implementation of community outreach strategies.

Maintain accurate records, documentation, and case notes.

Provide administrative and program coordination support as needed.

Foster positive community relationships using empathy, tact, and professionalism.

Promote and apply harm reduction principles in all interactions.

Support community events, workshops, and wellness initiatives.
Qualifications

Post-secondary education (minimum of bachelor degree or diploma) in social work, psychology, social services, or a related field.

Direct experience working with vulnerable populations, including individuals with mental health and/or substance-use challenges.

Experience coordinating and facilitating programs.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Demonstrated understanding of harm reduction theory and its practical application.

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple cases/programs efficiently.

Ability to maintain professional boundaries, sound judgment, and a trauma-informed approach.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and administrative tasks.

Knowledge of community resources is an asset.
Pay: Starting at $26.00 per hour

Work Location: In person, with option to occassionaly work remotely as duties permit.
Work Schedule: This is a part-time role with variable hours ranging from 15 to 22.5 hours per week (approximately 0.4–0.6 FTE). Evening hours required on Thursdays (3 pm - 7 pm), Feb through Apr, to facilitate the Beyond the Bell youth afterschool program.
