Formal One-to-One Support
Caring for others also means making space to care for yourself.
Caregiving can be deeply meaningful, but it can also bring stress, grief, uncertainty, and emotional exhaustion. Having a dedicated space to focus on your own well-being can make a meaningful difference.
Through our Caregiver Support Program, eligible participants can access up to five subsidized counselling sessions with a Registered Clinical Counsellor.

Counselling That Works for You
We work with participating clinicians in Vernon and Kelowna to make counselling as accessible and flexible as possible. Sessions can be offered:
-
In person
-
By video call
-
Over the phone
Counselling provides a confidential and supportive space where you can focus on yourself, talk openly about what you’re experiencing, and receive professional support as you navigate the emotional challenges that can come with caregiving.
Cost of Counselling
We want financial barriers to be as limited as possible when accessing support.
For participants earning less than $35,000 per year, the full cost of all five counselling sessions is covered.
Participants earning more than $35,000 per year contribute $50 per session, with the remaining cost subsidized through the program.
Support for the Person Behind the Care
When so much of your time and energy is focused on someone else, your own needs can easily take a back seat. These sessions are an opportunity to make space for your mental and emotional well-being.
