Caregiver Supports
Caring for someone you love can be incredibly meaningful, but it can also be challenging. Caregiving can take a toll emotionally, physically, and mentally—and you don’t have to navigate it alone.
Our Caregiver Support Program is here to support you, the caregiver. We offer resources, guidance, and a listening ear to help you manage the challenges that can come with caring for someone else.
Whether you need someone to talk to, help finding the right care or services, or simply some time to recharge, we’re here to help.
To be eligible for our Caregiver Support Program, the person you care for must be 55 years of age or older.
Services
Connect with other caregivers, share your experiences, and find support from people who understand. Our open, drop-in style groups meet twice a month in Vernon, Lake Country, Kelowna, and West Kelowna.
We collect gently used medical and mobility equipment from the community and redistribute it to those who need it—at no cost.
Available items may include incontinence supplies, walkers, wheelchairs, bath stools, bed rails, IV poles, bed alerts, and other helpful equipment.
Caregivers can connect with our team for one-on-one emotional support by phone, online, or in person. We offer a safe, welcoming space to talk about what’s on your mind, feel heard, and work through challenging moments.
Nav-CARE volunteers provide friendly, compassionate support to older adults who are living independently or navigating caregiving. Through regular visits and meaningful conversations, volunteers get to know each person, understand what matters most to them, and help identify their goals and priorities.
We offer community resource navigation for caregivers, helping you understand available services and work through barriers when navigating local systems. We’re here to help point you in the right direction.
Caregivers can access up to five subsidized counselling sessions with a Registered Clinical Counsellor. Appointments are available in Vernon and Kelowna, with options for in-person, video, or phone sessions.
