Handyperson Volunteer

Help older adults live safely and independently in their own homes by becoming a Handyperson Volunteer with Lake Country Health.

Why this Role Matters

Small household repairs and maintenance tasks can become difficult for many older adults, and your practical skills can make a meaningful difference in their comfort, safety, and quality of life.

What You'll Do

As a Handyperson Volunteer you will assist with simple, non-specialized home maintenance tasks such as...

  • adjusting doors and windows

  • tightening cabinet hardware

  • assembling small furniture

  • sealing drafts

  • changing light bulbs

  • hanging pictures

  • completing other minor household repairs

Is This Role Right for You?

This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with their hands, solving practical problems, and helping others. While professional trades experience isn't required, volunteers should be comfortable using basic hand tools and completing routine household maintenance tasks safely. Every visit is an opportunity to provide practical assistance while building meaningful connections within the community.
