Aging in Motion
Our Aging in Motion helps older adults in Lake Country stay connected to the people, services, and activities that support their health and well-being. Through affordable, volunteer-supported rides, seniors can get to medical appointments, grocery stores, and social activities with greater ease and independence. The program supports residents aged 65+ who may face barriers using traditional transportation due to income, mobility, or health challenges.
How this service works
-
Complete an Intake Form. Before using the service, clients complete a short intake form with contact information and basic health details. Once this is done, you are registered in the program. Contact seniors@lakecountryhealth.ca or call 778-215-5247 ext. 2 to request an intake.
-
Purchase Ride Voucher. After enrolling, you can purchase ride vouchers in advance. One voucher is required for each ride. Vouchers do not expire and are non-refundable. At the end of each ride, you give the voucher to your volunteer driver so they can claim their stipend.
-
Request Your Ride. Contact Lake Country Health to book your ride. Please request rides at least three business days in advance so we can arrange a volunteer driver.
