Tuesday, February 2 –The importance of SOCIAL CONNECTEDNESS!

We welcome Theresa Buchner from the Seniors Health and Wellness Institute of BC back to our program. Theresa will be presenting on how important Staying Connected with others is to our mental wellbeing. We will also be discussing how, for many of us, this may have been difficult to do during the pandemic. And we can share ways we have become creative in meeting our needs as social beings.

Tuesday February 9 - We are so pleased to have Rehabilitation and Falls Prevention Specialist, Tanya Zeron, back with us to discuss SHOES FOR SAFETY and how proper footwear is so important in the prevention of falls! Tanya is dedicated to the safety of seniors and presents a great session.

Tuesday February 16 - Music ! Music! Music! Once again, SALLY will entertain you with well-known songs from different genres with the help of her 6 string Yamaha! And as always be prepared for some questions and info about each song and the artist who made it famous. You are welcome to sing along!

Tuesday February 23 – LAUGHTER IS THE BEST MEDICINE! Who said that first?? SALLY will fill you in on that plus let's look at laughter a little deeper and also share in some fun stories and jokes! George Bernard Shaw said” You don't stop laughing because you grow older. You grow older because you stop laughing !” So what makes you laugh? Bring a short joke to share! But please make it clean and not racist in any way :)

Thursday February 4 - Once again! BRAINTEASERS/TRIVIA FUN with SALLY! We can do many activities to keep our brains active and healthy and joining this group is one of them. This isn't a competition – it's all for fun and the chance to perhaps learn something new! There will be a variety of General Knowledge questions to keep you on your toes and we always have some laughs as we learn. And you self-mark your quiz.....Sorry folks- no prizes but please join us anyway!

Thursday February 11 – ALL ABOUT LOVE! Please join SALLY just before St. Valentine's Day as she takes you on a journey all about LOVE .

Stories, history, famous couples, trivia, customs.....a Mixed bag of Valentine's sweet treats! After all- LOVE makes the world go round :)

Thursday February 18 - Heart Guided Meditation and Imagery with MICHELLENE! With her authentic passion and light hearted approach, we welcome Michellene back to Keep Connected. Join us on a guided journey to a beautiful state of relaxation!

Thursday February 25 – Let's travel back in time to the early days of the Caribou Gold Rush! We welcome our guest, Stewart Cawood aka Charlie Hankin, a business partner of Barkerville's namesake, Billy Barker, to Keep Connected.

“ Charlie” will share the history of the famous GOLD RUSH town and perhaps take us into the Blacksmith Shoppe and show us around!

Let's take a Sneak Peek at March's KEEP CONNECTED programs! Make sure you're registered for St. Patrick’s Day Shenanigan's, Brainteasers, Technology and Aging and Gabe Newman with another Newfoundland Jack tall tale! - Just to name a few.
